Rook, Paper, Scissors! Play

Team chess with a traitor: The Traitor

A social deduction game with a chessboard in the middle. A teammate playing oddly badly might be a beginner, or might be the Traitor. A wrong vote costs your side its move, so calling a council is a real decision.

How it plays

  1. Take turns. Your side shares one army, a move each. One player at the table secretly plays for the other side.
  2. Councils. On your turn, call a council (two a side) and vote out a teammate.
  3. The blade. Traitor? Out. Innocent? Cleared, and your side loses its move. Take their king to win.

The details

The Traitor
Only the Traitor knows. It may sit on either side, and it wins if the other side wins.
The vote
The accused does not vote. More Chop than Spare and the blade falls. On a side of two the caller decides.
Who plays
One a side, each side gets a bot crewmate. 2v2 is you and Lexi; a party room seats two to four a side.
No check
Take the king to win. After 150 moves each, more on the board wins.
