How it plays

  1. Crack the box. A piece that could capture on the box hits it instead.
  2. Carry it home. The opener holds the loot. Step it onto the HOME squares at your end of the train.
  3. Scenery. Tunnels and bridges knock pieces off lit rows. Step clear.

The details

Hits
From next to it 3, a knight’s jump 2, two squares down a line 1. Your hits count for you: the first side to 18 opens it.
Dynamite
One stick a side, once a match: a piece that could hit the box throws it instead, for 6 from wherever it stands. The blast knocks everybody next to the box off for two turns, the thrower too if it stood there.
Heavy loot
Its carrier moves one step a turn, or throws it up to two squares down a line to one of yours; one of theirs in between catches it. Your end is the train’s last two files. Take their carrier and the loot is yours.
Couplings
Every piece moves as in chess (your hero leaps like a knight or a king and slides two on the diagonal), but a rook or a bishop stops on a coupling between carriages. Knights jump it.
What comes past
Rung two turns ahead: a tunnel knocks anybody on the middle row off, a bridge the two edge rows, both for two rounds. A station brings the bench back aboard.
The last stop
Thirty rounds, six seconds a move; the last stop is called three rounds out. There the loot’s holder wins; nobody holding it, the side that cracked more of the box.
