Chess volleyball: Spike!
Sets, spikes and blocks, played on a chessboard. Every piece hits the ball the way it moves, so a good rally means knowing where theirs cannot reach. Long rallies raise the net until something gives.

How it plays
- Score. Land the ball where they cannot reach. First to seven.
- Hit. Tap a glowing piece: it reaches the ball and hits it like itself.
- Rings. Gold rings go over the net. Cyan rings set up a teammate.
The details
- Block
- When they set, move one piece into their lanes. Shut them all and the point is yours.
- Two touches
- Your second touch must go over. Eight seconds an action.
- Rotate
- Win a rally: you serve, and your pieces move one spot round.
- Long rally
- Every four crossings the net rises: the rows beside it go dead.
